1. Community Building
Not having a convenient and respectful community outlet, cannabis enthusiasts have been left “high and dry.” Through munchy, we hope to change this narrative by helping cannabis enthusiasts share their diverse experiences and personal stories, and together build a judgment-free community. Exercise your judgment when interacting with other members of the community and as always, treat others how you want to be treated.
Given the resistant stigma around cannabis use and the lack of legalization at the federal level, many members on our platform have just embarked on their cannabis journeys. We all know what it is like to be a canna-curious and how overwhelming it can feel. So let’s work together to build a space where everyone feels safe to be themselves and cultivate a community driven by kindness, inclusivity, and compassion.
As with everything else in life, we all have our differences. Be open to diverse perspectives and sometimes even opposing opinions. Contribute to the discussion, have constructive debates, and learn from each other.
Use Respectful Language
You should not use profanity in a way intended to offend or attack others in Experience title, descriptions, comments, or any other area publicly viewable on the platform. We all have different experiences and preferences when it comes to cannabis so respect where people are on their cannabis journeys.
Change the Narrative Together
Your voice matters! There is so much work ahead to normalize the use of cannabis in our daily lives and we cannot do it on our own. Whether you choose to contribute to or lead conversations on our platform, at a munchy experience, in our local community, or with family and friends, you are helping us and other cannabis enthusiasts redefine the narrative - one conversation at a time.
At munchy, we strive to build a community where hosts and guests alike are able to trust each other’s reliability and accountability—whether it be timing and location of the experience, timely communication, or in the expectations we set for one another. Being unreliable or undependable throughout the listing, booking, or experience might result in low ratings, and as such, might limit your ability to host or participate in experiences on the munchy platform in the future.
You should be responsive during booking and throughout an experience, provide adequate point of contact for hosting or participating in an experience, and participate in our resolution process in good faith should conflicts arise. If there are any changes or delays, we expect that you let the host(s) or guest(s) know at your earliest convenience so that they can modify their plans accordingly as needed.
Accurate Experience Details
The host is responsible for ensuring that the timing, location, point of contact, and details of the experience are accurately presented in the listing. Additionally, accommodation details such as access to restroom facilities, access for handicapped/disabled guests, and dedicated cannabis consumption zones should be clearly and correctly provided in the listing.
Adherence to Commitments
Barring extenuating circumstances as outlined in our Terms of Service, we expect that you do not cancel after the set deadline, fail to pay, fail to check in with the host, or break the host’s rules set for the experience.
3. Safety and Privacy
At munchy, we are committed to creating a trusted community where you as a member feel safe whether it is hosting experiences or exploring and attending experiences as guests. It is only when the community is also a safe space that canna-thusiasts and canna-curious are able to express themselves and enjoy cannabis experiences. Therefore, it is required that you refrain from threatening or risk harming anyone.
Discriminatory Behavior or Hate Speech
You should treat everyone with respect in every interaction. So, you should follow all applicable laws and not treat others differently because of their race, national origin, ethnicity, sexual orientation, sex religious affiliation, gender, gender identity, disability, or serious diseases. Similarly, insulting others on these bases is not allowed.
Bullying or Harassing Others
You should not share personal information to blackmail or shame others, target others with unwanted behavior, defame others, or violate our review and content standards.
Harming Yourself or Others
You should not commit physical or sexual assault, sexual harassment, sexual abuse, robbery, domestic violence, other acts of violence, or hold anyone against their will. Members of dangerous organizations, including organized criminal, terrorist, and violent racist groups, are not welcome in this community. We are committed to working with law enforcement as appropriate.
You should not convey an intent to harm anyone by your words or physical actions. We also take threats of self-harm as seriously and we may intervene or take actions if we become aware of a threat.
Creating Hazardous Situations
You should not have or increase the risk of having unsecured weapons or any other items that may cause harm in your experience listing, nor should you create conditions that increase the likelihood of a dangerous situation or impede escape in the event of emergency.
Theft or Vandalism
You should not use someone’s property without their permission, damage others’ property, threaten anyone with bad ratings or any other penalty, or harm anyone to obtain any benefits.
Spam, Phishing, or Fraud
You should not commit booking fraud, credit card fraud, or launder money; attempt to drive traffic to other sites or market unrelated products; divert payments meant for others; or make false claims against other members of the munchy community.
Violating Others’ Privacy or Intellectual Property Rights
You should not spy on other people. Surveillance cameras are not allowed during Experiences and any video recordings during Experiences should not be made unless they are disclosed and agreed upon by parties involved. You should not access other people’ accounts without authorization or violate others’ privacy, trademarks or copyrights. As a munchy member, you should only share personal information that you are comfortable sharing and respect others’ privacy.
4. Authenticity and Inclusivity
At munchy, we practice the ‘people first’ mindset no matter where munchy members are from or what diverse perspectives they have. You are at the core of our community and it is important that you feel respected and inclusive as well as being able to just be yourself when interacting with other munchy community members.
You should not provide a false name or date of birth, maintain duplicate accounts, or create an account if you’re under 21. You should not participate in munchy experiences if you will be in violation of local or state marijuana laws by signing up and participating in these experiences.
Misrepresenting Your Experiences
You should not provide inaccurate location information, have incorrect availability, mislead people about the type, nature, or details of your experience, substitute one experience for another, set up fake or fraudulent experiences, leave fraudulent reviews, engage in deceptive pricing, or fail to disclose hazardous issues.
Inclusive Language and Mindset
The use of inclusive language and having an inclusive mindset play an important role at munchy in building a trusted and safe community. Inclusive language is language that is free from words, tones or phrases that reflect prejudiced, stereotyped or discriminatory views of particular people or groups. It is also a language that does not deliberately or inadvertently exclude people from feeling accepted. Having a curious and empathetic mindset in approaching the use of inclusive terms is integral. Honoring, welcoming and championing inclusion may include seeking out unique and diverse perspectives and points of view.
Creating a community, especially under the umbrella of cannabis, where anyone can truly belong requires a foundation of trust and respect grounded in consistent expectations of host and guest behaviors, and of quality experiences. munchy has established these Community Standards to help guide behaviors and values that are integral parts of our community.
